Research Description:

With smart homes, most of the research involves working with people that have Alzheimer’s disease (AD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or working with the elderly; it focuses on how we can help people live more independently for longer.  Age is the major factor in this research.  The long-term goal of my research is to work with people that have injuries.  I want to look at how a smart home can help an individual that is in the process of recovering from an injury or how a smart home can help an individual live more independently, if they are not able to make a full recovery.  I would like to focus on working with military veterans.
